Ten Arizona-based, tech-focused startups were chosen to compete in the Street Pitch competition for a chance at a $50,000 business investment.

The second Street Pitch challenge, billed as a fast-paced, Q&A-style competition, will begin at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 23 on Central Avenue between Jefferson and Washington, at CityScape in downtown Phoenix.

The competition is sponsored by Cox Business, funded by the Arizona Founders Fund and led by the 48 Startups organization.

“Arizona Founders Fund is proud to support the Street Pitch again in its second year, and this year’s selection process proved particularly grueling,” said Romi Dhillon, founder and managing director of the early-stage fund for the state’s tech-focused startups. “Arizona’s startup founders are talented, passionate, and truly exceptional, and we’re excited to support and invest in the future generation of Arizona’s great technology entrepreneurs.”

The 10 startups competing will be:

  • A La Carte Charts, a social network for active investors that gives up-to-date-information on favorite stocks from mobile devices.
  • ABEE Rideshare, a combination based ride-share platform that implements decentralized blockchain services.
  • Mindspree Inc., helps users find a tutor and start learning in person or online.
  • ElderSense, helps discharge planners, social workers and consumers find the best assisted-living homes or memory care in the Southwest and Florida through real-time data.
  • Parts Detect, provides an online tool for finding replacement after-market/original equipment manufacturer parts locally for domestic and foreign vehicles.
  • Life365 Inc., a digital health software platform that integrates and identifies connected health solutions for health systems to gather data from large patient populations at home. The platform is designed to enable proactive remote health monitoring of patients at home.
  • Trainual LLC, provides ways to make an online training manual for your employees and contractors.
  • Skilled LLC, an enterprise software application that helps manage every aspect of a contracting business.
  • Storage Together LLC, a Grand Canyon University student startup mobile app that connects people with extra space in their homes for people who need items stored.
  • eTrack Tech Inc., offers Internet of Things-enabled predictive work order solutions that save time and money on maintenance.

The competition initially launched as part of Phoenix Startup Week, but this year the competition is not part of the week’s events.

The volunteer group behind the Phoenix-based nonprofit 48 Startups is organizing the competition. The organization is dedicated to providing Arizona entrepreneurs with world-class events, education and mentorship.

“It’s free to anyone so they can see what’s happening here and be inspired,” said Stephen “V” Viramontes, co-founder and organizer of the competition. “We’ve essentially open-sourced Arizona’s version of Shark Tank.”

The TechStars Phx Startup Week will be Feb. 19-23 at the George Washington Carver Museum in downtown Phoenix’s Warehouse District.

“Giving back to the community is a tenant of how the Cox family of companies does business,” said Rod Lewis, marketing director for Cox Business Arizona, in a statement. “Participating in Street Pitch allows Cox Business to support a climate of entrepreneurship.  When businesses start, grow and thrive here, it benefits all Arizonans.”
